Sustainability and Michigan’s Bioeconomy Future

Academy Purpose:
  • Generate critical questions and issues pertinent to an emerging and sustainable Michigan bio-economy.
  • Create a network of engaged scholars, critical thinkers, and concerned citizens that identifies sustainability-focused action agendas (e.g., policy actions, engaged research actions, industry actions, government actions and NGOs actions) which could add value to a bioeconomy future.
  • Disseminate the identified action agendas developed at this Academy to a broad audience.
  • Use the identified action agendas to guide and inform future Sustainable Michigan Endowed Project (SMEP) projects, grants, and other activities.
